About The Author

Elias Kanaris is an author, professional keynote speaker, executive coach, leadership trainer, and entrepreneur. He has been a regular keynote presenter and he has frequently spoken to audiences in the I.T., telecommunications, insurance, financial services, real estate, and education sectors across thirteen countries on four continents. Since the early 1980s, Elias has been using humor and energy to deliver great learning experiences to his audiences.

 

Elias Kanaris - International Speaker and Author

Elias was flying between London Heathrow to Chicago O’Hare on United flight UA929 on 9/11 2001. His plane, along with 37 others was diverted to Gander airport in Newfoundland, Canada. What he learned during the five days and six nights that he was stranded there defined his philosophy on leadership and resilience.

With over 25 years' experience in sales and marketing roles, Elias has used that experience to become an expert in leadership and resilience in both the corporate and not-for-profit workplace. He has developed a blueprint to empower organizations to learn from 9/11 and to protect their brand, retain top talent whilst safeguarding their bottom line.

Elias Kanaris

Elias is the Founder and CEO of The Insight and Strategy Group and was the President with the Global Speakers Federation (2018-2019). He was also the President of the Professional Speakers Association of New Zealand (2015-2017).

Elias was born in North Africa, was educated in the UK, and now lives in Murrays Bay in Auckland with his wife of 26 years and two of his four children.

His first book, ‘Liberating Your Leadership Potential: Changing self-limiting beliefs to lead your team, organisation or country with influence’ allows the reader to apply Nelson Mandela's character traits and wisdom to lead more effectively.

His latest book, ‘Leading From The Stop: Positive Influence And Heartfelt Resilience In Times Of Adversity’ allows the reader to apply the leadership lessons learned from the people of Newfoundland, Canada in the aftermath of 9/11.
